The committee in place in 1998 couldn't decide on a venue and to date this proposal has not been carried out. At the Annual General Meeting held in the Central Control room of Kilroot Power Station on the 10th of December 1997, it was decided that the Treasurers post, which for so long had been held by founder member Paul Dowdie, should be amalgamated with the Secretary's' post in order to make it easier to carry out the Society's' Business. Willie Kirkpatrick was elected into this new post. Willie has kept up the good Secretarial work which had been carried out in the nineties by Davey Gore who still works at Kilroot and is currently President of the Society, Colin Martin who joined A.E.S. and Lawrence Holly who relinquished the post after retiring from the company in that year. At the annual general meeting held at Rockmount Golf club on 26th September 2003, it was decided that the Society's yearly fee be raised to £180. This huge increase, a 50% rise from the current fee of £120 per annum, arose mainly because the Society was having to buy it's own prizes, instead of relying on the generosity of 'Sponsors' e.g. contractors etc.. It was also decided that the membership fee, at present £30, which is non-refundable, should be increased to £50, non-refundable. Jim Boodles, suggested that those who so wished could pay the £50 to join the Society and then pay for each outing attended, at the cost of that outing to the Society. It was also decided that we would again seek sponsorship from site contractors etc.. As this was the last year of Jimmy Bryans Presidency a new President had to be elected and Scotty Boyd was selected by a majority vote, as the other candidate' proposed by Laurence Holly, did not satisfy the proper criteria for the position. At the annual general meeting (AGM), held at Whitehead Golf Club on Friday 22nd October 2004, after Gerry McCorry had been confirmed as next years Captain and Laurence Holly proposed Joe Weir as vice-Captain, seconded by Norman Sittlington and duly elected by the members, there was much discussion about the need to attract former members back to golf outings. Outgoing Captain Norman Sittlington suggested that maybe we could allow ex-members who attend occasional outings as visitors to pay a higher fee, say £8, over and above the green fee for that day and then they could play for the prizes on offer for that outing. After much discussion it was decided that although this suggestion had a lot of merit, it could lead to certain individuals only attending the major outings, e.g. Captains Day, Presidents Day and the Final Outing and would cause some resentment amongst the full time members. Vice-Captain Joe Weir, among others, suggested that we open up the membership to people who had never worked in Kilroot Power Station and after some discussion this was accepted on the proviso that any new members would have to be acceptable to the committee (Captain, Vice-Captain, President, Secretary/Treasurer and committee members). Secretary/Treasurer Graeme Clarke said that he intended to change the Society's bank account, at present with the First Trust, to possibly the Alliance & Leicester (A&L), in order to try and reduce the bank charges which he thought were excessive. There being no further business the meeting was closed.
